To remove the radio, first carefully remove the vent above it (by gently prying in on the latches just inside on either side). Remove the two rubbery tubes. Then pull off the radio knobs, the nuts on the shafts, and the rear support strap if so equipped The radio will then go forward, up, and out the vent hole. Unplug the wires.
As for replacing the vent and lining up the rubber tubes, I've tried
everything including using Popsicle sticks. The best way is to carefully
(notice how often I use that word?) pry out the vanes from the vent housing,
being CAREFUL to not lose the "spider" and o-ring on one end.
Then just replace the vent housing, reaching through it to line up the tubes.
Once it's in place, replace the vanes.
