Of course I'll have replay my experience at the local DMV when I registered
my Delorean back in '84. While waiting for the clerk to look over my bill of
sale and chatting with a car dealer who was also in line, the clerk looked at
the purchase price ($20K+) and shouted, "What kind of a car is this Delorean
anyway?" To which I replied, "It not a car. It's a time machine!" Good
thing for me she had a sense of humor.

I had a problem with hard start when the engine was warm. I replaced
the Actuator which did no good other than lighten my wallet. On the
advise of Jerry Rine (top drawer DeLorean mechanic - Columbus, Ohio) I
had a Volvo dealer replace the checkvalve in the fuel pump (it was a
new pump, too). The car has run perfect ever since. Cost was most
reasonable $30.00. I had the fuel pump area opened for them!

Did you ever notice that DeLorean owners come in all ages? This is a car that can't be stereotyped to one age class. From young to old everyone seems to love the "D". So within what age range do you fall under? (Identities are anonymous)

Hello,
I'm really sorry for posting this, but I have no other way of contacting this
person.
I would like to talk to the person who bought the DMCL necktie, formally
owned by Mike Loasby, from James Espey a couple of weeks ago.
Please email me privately...Thanks!!!

Well, I have to admit that I despise taking my vehicles in for emissions,
especially my D. Last time I had it in, all the employees stopped what they
were doing & swarmed. Ok, I admit it...that was the fun part. It was also
fun "having" to open the door to hand over the paperwork. You know how it
is...that window is just too small to get the job done. :^)
Anyway, the tester is entering info into his computer & says, "So, this was
made by GM, right?" I said, "No, it was made by DeLorean." I get a blank
stare...he says, "But GM made it, right?"...
Again, I said, "No, it was made by DeLorean...they were their own company."
Another blank stare. Now I've done it...there is no classification for
DeLorean in his computer. He studied the screen for a while & told me that
he put it under Dodge, since they both begin with the letter "D".
It irritates me that I'm required by law to have my D tested, yet they have
no provisions for it in their computer. The good news is that I passed!

<html> For those who have always wanted a copy of Stainless Steel Illusion
without paying $120, there may be a possibility of purchasing a brand
new copy sometime soon.
I just read that Barnes and Noble (bn.com) will be offering a print
on demand service. It uses an IBM machine that takes a scanned book,
prints it, and binds it, with no noticable loss in quality. Out of
print books need to be located, then scanned; I am unsure how difficult
this would be for a book like SSI.
Apologies if this is a little off-topic, but I thought that this
might be of interest to owners and enthusiasts who are having a hard
time finding information about the car, the company, and the man. The
print on demand service is set to debut this January.
