hey Efren, "Dusty" is a Delorean that was stored in a barn in Europe somewhere. It was an "original" right hand drive Delorean with only 4 miles on the clock. I guy on the DML bought it and restored it. I was just wondering if somebody had any pictures of it when it was still in the barn. it really is fasinating!

My tach appears to read 50% of what it should. That is, when it reads 1000 rpm my outboard tach reads 2000 rpm. Interestingly, when the key is off the tach reads 1000. When the key is on it reads 0.
I'm wondering if there are some things that I can check to see exactly what the problem is. If I need a new tach, has anyone rebuilt one?

Ok, earlier this week someone posted a message on the DML saying that he knew of a person who had a rare original film reel with the DMC Live the Dream Commercial.
Whoever you are (I've lost the message) Have you talked to this man again?
In your post you said that he didn't want to sell the reel itself (obviously) but that he MAY could be PERSUADED to make a copy to VHS video cassettes.
Please, please, please try and aquire a copy! I want one :)

Dusty did not need any restoration besides a good wash - pictures of Dusty at the recent NEC show are on both the Club Gallery and Members Cars at www.delorean.co.uk The car was in every way brand new - right down the dull leather of the steering wheel (that's one thing I noticed).

I've decided that I like Stian's suggestion of a "Subscriber's Rides" page as a new "feature" of DMCNEWS. I'll get something up over the weekend, but in the mean time feel free to send in your picture. I'll announce the URL after I get it set up. There will be a link off the main page at www.dmcnews.com and the "what's new" page when I get it set up.
Here are some suggestions: ----The picture should show you AND your DeLorean. If you're shy put a bag over your head. -----PLEASE do not sent me huge 1 meg picture files. I'm on a dial-up circuit here. Be gentle. Use your Photoshop or MS Photo Editor or scanner software to reduce it. I can handle just about any format, i.e. jpeg, gif, etc, does not matter. ----If you have already put your picture in the "Vault" at eGroups, I'll try and grab it from there.
Send all submissions to mydmc(AT)dmcnews.com
Thanks

Benn - I took the liberty of changing the subject title slightly. In case anyone else has missed it (I didn't get it...?!), I have set up a poll relating to David Knudsen's recent claim that there are no "original" right-handers. Details of the correspondance between Chris Parnham of the DOC UK and Mr Knudsen can be found by following the "News" link at www.delorean.co.uk.
Although the cars ARE conversions, they were done either at or on behalf of the DMC factory, as opposed to any which have been privately converted since. The factory right-handers (with only a couple of exceptions) also sport all the "Euro" prototype modifications. Are these cars not "original"???
Place yer bets now, ladies and gentlemen at

DUSTY is a FACTORY Original RHD Delorean which has only 4 miles from new. Chris Parnham found DUSTY a few months ago in a barn in the UK. You can see pictures of DUSTY on the UK DOC web site.http://www.delorean.co.uk under 'Club Gallery'. It is very good condition as its never been outside since new i assume. The pics show DUSTY at the Classic car show in the condition he found it..covered in hay and stuff.

Stian,
I had an idea like this about a year ago. So I created the DeLorean Family Photo Album. Here is the URL:
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Shop/2696
Many people stopped by and looked at the site but few people contributed. I still think it's a good idea, I just don't have the time for it any more. If you would like to work together on something please let me know.

I recently aquired a few UNUSED(NOS) issues of automobile quarterly

tells the story how it really happend. It has many large color photos too.
This issue tells about every motor company that didnt make it. Also contains
the Bricklin story. Rather than selling them over the list I will be putting
them on E-Bay.

Brian,
No, the relay you removed has no other function.

Gus,
Stephen Wynne and I recently discussed the PRV upgrade project and I have since published a story on the subject at our website. I plan to do continuous updates and would be very interested in hearing your comments prior to and after the installation. Please feel free to share your experience.

Hello,
I happened to have recorded a segment of the History quiz show on the History Channel today. One of the questions was about the Delorean and it asked, "What Metal gave the exterior its distinctive look?" a. Titanium, b. Aluminum, or c. Stainless steel. Most people I meet think it is Aluminum.

I found a set of tips in a catalog that I think would look great. They fit our size pipes, and are 3 1/2" in diameter and 9 inches in length. Has anyone put tips on that large before? I am concerned about melting the bumper. Any thoughts would be helpful. Also, if I wanted to replace the muffler, is stock the way to go, or has 20 years of newer technology given us something better.
Thank you all and HAPPY HOLIDAYS, Ross VIN 911 CA LIC "MCFLY"

Ross-
Mine had them when I bought it from a dealer in Fla. So far, it doesn't seem to be affecting the area around them, and I drive it pretty often. They do give it a much better look I believe.
