Hey List,
I had found a piece of paper inside the drivers side door of my DeLorean
some time ago (it was located at the top of the door where the headliner
snaps into) , I put it away and forgot about it. Recently when I was
cleaning out my room, I found it and I remember a thread on the list about
finding interesting things in their cars and I just wanted to tell everyone
about it. Its a piece of paper dated 4/29/81, and its sort of a check list
to adjust the door locks on the cars. On the paper it says that there was an
"Electrical Test Unit" to test the electric locks on the cars. I find it
most interesting to note that my car was built June of 81 and this paper is
dated April 29 of 81. I wonder how long my car was on the assembly line or
even outside the factory waiting to be shipped to the states after it was
finished being built? Does anyone know at which point on the assembly
process does the VIN plates get added to the car? Another note to make is
that the door itself has a magic marker that is dated 5/31/81. Also who ever
did this check list on my car must have been given a number or something
because whenever he/she finished doing that portion of the check list there
is a little box on the right side of the paper and they put the number "270"
in it. I am going to scan this piece of paper and add it to the EGroups
vault for all to see. It should be there by the end of tonight (12/20/99)
Thats all for now. Happy Holidays everyone.
Later,
Nick

Run some searches on the net for Carmageddon Cheat Codes. My brother gave me
a save game cheat patch which, when added to the game folder, gives you
access to every level & car.
It's much easier to cheat with these games, than play them by the rules.
I don't know where he got the patch, but you should be able to find something
out there. There are cheat pages for every game.

Lee-
I am suggesting that "kitchen table engineering", by and large, has
contributed to more PROBLEMS than they have solved.
For the better part of twenty years, the DeLorean has been without
any "true" factory authorized service/support. This has resulted in
well-intentioned, but often misguided attempts at
repairs/modifications. We see them ALL the time in our shop.
I am not sure of your real motives in this posting, but have known
for some time that you apparently "have a problem" with either me
and/or DMC (Houston). If you'd like to continue this dialog in
private, I am welcome to hear your issues and how they can be
resolved.
BTW, how are the models coming along?

This isn't a commercial for power tools...just some freindly advise. The
Dremmel (rotary tool) is without question the single best tool I've invested
in since I purchased my Delorean.
If you own a Delorean and don't own a Dremmel ask for one for Christmas.
They are fantastic for stripping, cutting and polishing...and come in handy
on those stubborn, rusted stuck nuts and bolts. The Dremmel has saved me
countless hours...and more than a few therapy sessions. :)
I recently redid my headliners...the dremmel not only cleanly (and safely)
stripped off the old foam stuck to the boards, but cut "v's" in the
replacement fir trees I purchased so that they fit in the holes perfectly.

I was at the local Kragen Auto Supply store today here in San Diego and
came across the new calendar featuring James Espey's car. It cost $1.00 and
helps support the Boys and Girls club. The photos are great and well worth
the buck. Jame's car looks beautiful against the Biosphere ( I think!) in
AZ. Fil Vigil.

Subject: [DML] Interior Lights not coming on

Hi, I'm getting things fixed on my D finally, next on the list are the
interior lights. The only ones currently working are the Dash lights
(white ones above spedo, and other gagues), glove box light, and the
center temperature control lights. The doors, and all other interior
lights don't work. The dimmer control doesn't control anything, it just
spins freely. The door lights are disconnected, which brings another
question, why are there 4 wires on each side, with only 2 connections.
There are 2 sets of 2 wires that go to each door. Where do these lights
gets hooked up at? Has anyone had this same problem?
Thanks,
Mike Schaefer

Hi again,
Currently I only get heat from the center vents and defrost
sources. I was under the impression that there were feet vents for the
heater also. My feet get pretty cold in there. I looked around with a
flash light and found nothing. I have a low Vin #, was it a later
addition?
Thanks,
Mike Schaefer

There have been a number of postings regarding D1, all of them well written
both defending and knocking the way Ed handles his potential customers. I
think Ed, along with any other business person, will reap either the
benefits or the backlash based on the way they approach clients. I don't
think we need to continue posting letter after letter flaming him, or any
other shop for that matter, because these things will sort themselves out in
time. Therefore I've rejected both good and bad comments about D1 today and
suggest we move on to subjects more in the Holiday spirit.
