On my car, the key for the gas cap is the same as the ignition
key. It was very stiff the first time I tried it. A couple of
squirts of WD-40 loosened the lock in the cap up
nicely.

Ross,
My question is this: did the previous owner replace the gas cap? My DeLorean
has a locking gas cap, and the ignition key unlocks it.

What is your cheap fix for the fan-fail module? I would be very interested in
it.
Thanks,

Subject: [DML] delorean.com what happened?
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

Neither address respond for me right now... For my curiosity, I checked
the database entries again for the 2 domain names.
delorean.com is registered to James Espey (at a PO Box in Mesa, AZ).
The record was updated December 16, 1999 in the database- I guess James
has someone in AZ forwarding his mail.
The phone number has been updated to a number in Houston (Listed to a
name I did not recognize).
The fax number is still a AZ number.
dmc2.com is registered to John DeLorean (at a "Suite" address in
Scottsdale, AZ).
The listed address looks like a multi-office type building (A search on
the address reveals a number of tenants).
The phone number in the database is in AZ, but unlisted.
The Fax number is in California.
All of the information was retrieved from public databases on the web,
so I hope I am not invading any ones privacy...
I seem to remember the first time I checked the database for the 2
domain names, dmc2.com had a address in NJ or NY listed. I think I
would have noticed the AZ address because it does not make much sense to
me, and Scottsdale is very close to Mesa AZ. I should have saved the
output from a few months back for comparison.
James did post a message a few weeks back with a explanation of his
involvement in the project. Check the back issues for it. I suppose he
has some information on the status (or demise) of the "New DeLorean"
site. On the other hand, he may not be in a position to share with us
what he knows. If JZD has in fact given up on the DMC2 project (sadly),
then it would make sense for James to point "delorean.com" to his
current employer- DMC Houston.
It is likely that what is going is in the "none of your business"
category, but it is fun to kill some time trying to solve the mystery!
Happy New Year!
(BTW, the Millennium is NEXT year 2001... There never was a year 0)

I'm still searching for a passenger side door sill carpet for the grey
interior car. The previous owner had to put in the darker color after
spilling battery acid on it. Several folks on the list mentioned that
they may have one but ended up not having the correct item. One person
was more of the "best price takes it" but never responded to my offer so
I don't know if it was sold. DMC Houston is very busy trying to sort
out the massive inventory they have so they are not able to tell if they
have any at this time. So......if anyone has this item for sale please
let me know
Thanks

DMC Joe,
I was wondering how if any way possible is it I
can return the top of the windshield to Original
Color. The previous owners of our car left it out in
the sun for some time, and have 1.faded the Top black
strip above the windshield, and 2.Faded the entire
dash yellow (which they have a cover over.) I was
also wondering if there are any suggestions
mechanically because the plates on this car are dated
96, and if that is true then the car has been sitting
for 3 years, not driven.
Thanks,
AmdMAN

My father just bought a delorean and had it shipped
from AZ. He did not check the car out and had some
problems with it. Dash was cracked and the Master
Cylinder on the clutch was bad. We replaced the
master cylinder and he is getting kind of frustrated
with the car. He is thinking about selling it and I
am not happy about that. If anyone has anything they
could tell me to tell him to encourage him to keep the
car please tell me. You know like what is good about
it besides it being a Delorean

Is there a mention of a gentleman with the name Tysoe featured on this list? I
only ask because apparently he had a "company car" and is a relation of a friend
at work. Apparently he had something to do with the taillight cluster design.
FWIW he HATED the car :-(
Cheers
