ADMIN NOTE: There will be no digest delivered this Friday, as the list will going down for maintenance over the weekend. We should be live again on Monday, and hopefully by the end of next week we will be switched to majordomo server and all of our probelms will be over ;)

We hit 200 subscribers this week, though I expect that to drop as I purge some of the non-deliverables in preparation for the switch to the new server. The submission address will change, but you will not need to re-subscribe. I will keep everyone posted both here and on the web page. Thanks for all your support and patience!

Sorry to get everyones hopes up.... it turns out that I couldn't actully get
any of the hot wheel sized DMC time machines. My dad was able to pick up
several "micro machine" sized cars after I was already on the way home. I
will have these by the end of the week. If anyone is interested, I canl send
you one of those. I also have the phone number for Universal Studios mail
order service. That number is 1-800-447-0373. I was told my a Universal
employee that they would probably have the matchbox Delorean. (he said that
they had a bunch two days before I got there, so they do exist). If anyone
calls and finds the car, please pass along the part number and all that good
stuff for the rest of us.

Oh, and if anyone hasn't been on the BTTF Ride at Universal, it is awesome.
BTW, they had the DeLorean out front that they used in filming the BTTF
trilogy. It almost made me cry. They have torn that car apart. It is so
screwed up it wasn't funny, then they put it out for all to see.....

Great letter! I can certainly sympathize with your frustration. Been
there, done that.

There is module under your dash that controls your wipers. It says
"Lucas" on it. Question: Why do the British like warm beer? Answer:
Because they have "Lucas" refrigerators. Look in your Owners Guide,
Parts Manual under Section 3, Subsection 6, Group 2. At the top left
of the page you'll see a part with numbers 3, 4, 5 near it. 3 seems
to be the number of the part Wipe/wash con. Two plugs attach to it,
right below the 3. Remove these from the mod. and plug them together.
Now your wipers will work fine but without the delay. I never could
figure out that delay anyway. Sometime after it warms up I'm going to
ferret out everything that says "Lucas" on it and find a substitute.
Those of you that are purists can put up with this junk if you want
to.

Girlfriend's sister's family? Must be a great girlfriend. I would
TELL them to rent a storage locker, or rent one for them? If there is
some reason you can't do either, get a car cover.
The starting problem is probably related to ice somehow. Some of the
fuel-antifreeze products work better than others. Try another and
keep the tank full, less room for condensation. Remember that the
engine compartment has all that black above it. If the sun is out it
can be above freezing in the engine compartment, so it might be ice
forming on some moving part.

Now that it's warmed up, remember our cars didn't come equiped with
a snorkel either!

This is just a little story to vent my frustration about this senario.
There is a man who lives a block over from me who has a Delorean. He bought
it back in '87 or '88. He drove it for about a year or a year and a half
when he
started to have trouble with it. He took it to get it fixed and it ran for
a while and then he parked it in his driveway. Trough the years the nylon
car cover rotted off of it and I am sure the dash has cracked and the weather
seals rotted. I approached the gentleman about buying the car since I have
always wanted one. He was not very polite and he said he hadn't decided what
he was going to do with the car yet. A couple of months ago, we had a decent
sized storm and a tree limb about 3'x8" fell through the front windshield.
It stayed there, sticking straight up, for about three or four days. It started
to rain again and he put a blue tarp over the front glass with the limb still
in the car. He has, since then, removed the limb and it is lying beside the
car with the tarp still across the windshield.
I would appreciate any advice as to how I might be able to get him to
sell me the car and if the car is still worth buying and if so, how much
would it be worth.
     Thanks.

Does anyone have a Windows wav file of a DeLorean starting up? I think it
would be a great idea for my Windows start sound.
