I was wondering, if the price of these cars go up, how much more will
they go up
in the next year? Thanx.

Hello. I have small poster with the delorean on it, in photographic
quality
color, just like in a magizine. It Has a great close-up of a DMC and lots
of
technical info on the back. Very rare. I would like to trade it for a Hot
Wheels DeLorean if anyone has one. Thanks.

Anyone know where I can find a Hot Wheels DeLorean? I contacted Mattel and
they said they are still in production and are distributed to all stores
who
carry Hot Wheels. I checked everywhere and can't find one. I need as many
as
possible for my collection. Thanks.

Dear Delorean mailing list subscribers-

I was wondering if any other subscribers had a delorean
with stainless steel louvre and if so is your vin# 17000 or
higher. I bought my delorean last summer and I haven't heard of
any other delorean with the same louvre. My vin # is 17006. I
assume that it was made after John Delorean went to trial and
someone thought to try stainless steel on the back. If anyone
knows about the history of my delorean please let me know. I
have heard so many stories about my car including the theory
that some deloreans were made especially for the Canadian
market and mine might be one. Thank you.

Last week I had the opportunity to purchase another antenna for my
DeLorean. While I was talking to Tim at Swedish Automotive, I
mentioned this list, and how nice it would be if he cut us all a break
for mentioning Swedish Auto on the Net. (which we do anyway...) So I
want to let everyone here know that if they refer to this mailing list
when ordering parts from Tim (at Swedish Auto) that he is willing to
cut you a 10% discount, on the best price you can find. So when your
mortgage is due, along with a new batch of Delorean parts, order
through them (Swedish Auto :) and take a much-needed discount. For
further information, Tim's phone number((AT) Swedish Auto :) is
1.800.350.7429.

Ok, all you people complaining of a lack of braking power in your
DeLoreans...I do have some opinions/advice on that subject. I have owned a
pair of MG Midgets in addition to my current U.K. fav (DeLorean #1529).
They and all other British cars that I am aware of have one item in
common.
The brake seals are made of a natural rubber compound that will erode
slowly in the presence of so-called universal Dot 3 brake fluid that is so
common in the U.S.

If you are purchasing any British car, I recommend immediately draining
the
brake fluid and replacing it with Castrol GT fluid, which is quite
acceptable for these natural rubber seals. Of course, you can also replace
all the brake seals with new seals, but that isn't always necessary unless
the deterioration is excessive (as can be evidenced by the brake fluid
being a dark black color).

My DeLorean also is having brake problems as well as a myriad of other
problems, but they are not at the top of my list quite yet. I recently
reconnected a lot of the wiring that was loose - speakers, door lights,
etc. - and am now replacing the fuel pump and all related hoses, brackets,
and misc. items related to it. I got everything from P.J. Grady Inc. in
New
York (516-589-6224). Robert Grady was real helpful, but then so has been
all the DeLorean specialty places I have dealt with to date. With any
luck,
the car will be up and running come this Thursday afternoon. :)

For everyone that doesn't already know about it, Randall Busch with the
Iowa DOA chapter is organizing a DeLorean retreat weekend at a resort in
Illinois during the month of June. Those interested should contact him via
email "randall118(AT)aol.com". I hope to bring my vehicle there as well as
the
national convention in Nashville. The more the merrier at these events!!

I am in the market for a for a project car. I have found a DeLorean and
the owner is asking $5000.00 for the car. It does need some serious
restoration. He says it was running, however I believe some minor engine
work to get it running again is needed. The interior is in bad shape but
the body has no dents or missing parts.

My only concern is the car has been painted black. I would like to
restore the car back to the original Stainless Steel. Is it possible to
remove paint without damaging the Stainless ?
Is the $5000.00 price reasonable for this car, restoration problems and
all ?

Any pointers as I look over this car would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I was wondering if anybody knows what has happened with the ERM technology
John Delorean had the rights to produce. Does he still have the rights?
Has he sold them? Has ERM technology ever been used in a car? Also, does
anybody know what has become of the factory in Northern Ireland? After it
closed down, was it destroyed, or did another company move in? Is it
still
in use today? Another thing...I heard that after most of his major legal
battles were finished (cocaine) that around 1985 John Delorean tried to
start up the Delorean Motor Company again. Is this true? If it is, what
did he do? How far did he get?

I just sold my delorean, but found some spare parts that I wish to sell
and was wondering what they are worth.

1. Driver and Passenger "wing" windows (original DMC glass) (these are
the
ones that move up and down when you open the window)

2. Rack and Pinon unit - never installed in a car.

3. 3/8 socket that has the correct size square drive to loosen the oil
plug.

If you know what these are worth or are interested, please email me,
Johnk(AT)telis.org. Thanks
