I just sold my delorean, but found some spare parts that I wish to sell
and was wondering what they are worth.

1. Driver and Passenger "wing" windows (original DMC glass) (these are
the
ones that move up and down when you open the window)

2. Rack and Pinon unit - never installed in a car.

3. 3/8 socket that has the correct size square drive to loosen the oil
plug.

If you know what these are worth or are interested, please email me,
Johnk(AT)telis.org. Thanks

Jimmi:

I would not worry about the price of DeLoreans skyrocketing during the
next
couple of years. While it is true that they are holding their value and
perhaps even beginning to demand a higher price than in recent years, they
still sell for less on average than the original $26,000 dealer price.
DeLoreans will undoubtably one day be a rare collector's car, but that day
may be 20 years away or even more. To be a true considered an
honest-to-goodness collector's item, there value needs to rise beyond the
price when they were new.

I love my DeLorean, but I have no false hopes about thinking I am going to
keep it for a few years and sell it for a fortune. If I am lucky, I
possibly could sell it in say five years for as much as I have spent
keeping it running. But I plan on keeping it and driving it as an everyday
vehicle and hopefully buying another one or two in the next 10 years.

You know what really bites!!??! Well, as you all have probably figured,
I have loved the delorean for years...I remember having teh hot wheels
delorean, all the micromachine BTTF stuff, and I built the delorean model
(BTTF really coo, you hit a switch and the wheels invert to hover mode!)
I also remember accedentaly (SP?) breaking the doors off my hot whell...
(they went up and down like the real thing)....I wish I could go
back in time to steal all my old stuff, from myself when I was a
kid...I am buying another model, BTW...my old on died in a fire...
well, see you guys on friday!!!

BTTF was on two days ago here in WI. While watching it I had noticed a
couple things... :)

1. After Marty travels back to 1985, the Libyans drive by him when the
DeLorean dies. He chases after them and gets to the mall just before
"Doc"
gets shot --10 minutes after his arrival. If you'll remember, the town is
more than 2 miles from the mall. (You see the 2 mile sign after he hides
the
car when he arrives in 1935.) Anybody know how he gets there so fast?

2. During the course of the movie (almost whenever you see the DeLorean),
someone is spinning the car around while pivoting on the front tires. Can
someone tell me how they do this, it seems like a cool trick!

Anyone else ever notice this? Can you help me out?

Thanks a lot!

Also, when looking at a DeLorean for sale, what parts should I make sure
are
in good shape? If you could give me specifics, and tell me how to test if
they're in good shape, that would be great!

Thanks again.

Here's a good question before you do anything....
	*WHY* was the car painted?...
From what you say in regards to the condition of the car, it was
entirely and most likely possible that this person didn't treat the car
as
nicely as many of us do.
I'd seriously look into the history of the car before going to have
the panels restored (and it can be done). Even considering a less then
outstanding history, exterior panel restoration is entirely possible. If
you were to have the paint buffed off, perhaps. Then taking it somewhere
that specializes in stainless steel panels (There is a place that escapes
my memory at the moment) to have them rebrushed. Any panels you might
have
to replace, you could probably find from KAPAC.

I'm not entirely sure if DeLorean still holds the rights to the
process. If I understand correctly, the production rights would have
defaulted from his hands by now, surely. He may have had to renew his
rights. As I'm not all that familliar with the regarding laws, I can't
say. SUrely you could call up and get a copy of the patented material.
That is publicly accessable.
If you do, let me know what you find. I'm not even certain he held
the rights under his name, the DeLorean Motor Company or the DeLorean
Company.

Need a little advice. Has anyone changed the front passenger side
speaker? If so how difficult a job was it? How do you do it ? (I
looked and can't figure out how to get it out:-) What size speaker is
needed for the replacement? Local auto radio shops don't want to touch
it. Thanks for any help.

Let's see now...We'll skip the fact that my mechanic's staff
decided to seperate my wiper switch from the turn signal after it was
detirmined to be in perfect working condition and consequently destroying
it (a piece fell out and we can't get it back in, will you buy us another
one) and go straight to why my beautiful car is out in the rain (the "We
haven't been able to start it for the past week, do you know what's wrong)
Before I run down there in my Roomate's Festiva *SHIVER* I'd like
to get some ideas as to why, for the past week without calling me and
informing me, my car hasn't started. From what I understand, full batts,
fuses are all fine, relay clicks and usuall charging sound when key is
moved to on position, When moved to start, it acts exactly as it usually
does except the engine does nothing. No dimming lights, nothing unusuall
from what he tells me, except that it doesn't even try to turn over.
Repairs can't be done, staff can't even look at it until monday, as
the big cheese is off to Reno for the weekend. (He left his checkbook
behind, so I am assured he will be returning)
	Any ideas?....
Oh, and gave Tim at Swedish Automotive a call and was completely
satisfied with the prices he quoted to me. Quite a bit better then my
mechanic claims he'd have to charge me if he had to get the part. (He
charges labor for time on the phone looking for parts?>????)
Tell me this is not so!

I am looking for a new or used ignition switch. not the lock, just the
