At 1/16", that's probably your radio antenna drain tube...More common
though, you'll find, is a larger tube, maybe an inch or so wide from the
carbon
canister that's bolted to the inside of the pontoon, accessable through
(and
attached to) that access pannel by the Air Compressor.
I was baffled when I first saw it too, and went investigating...I
recently saw it again when I replaced my Radio antenna, which would go up
but
not down...the motor sounded fine though, so I assumed it had a stripped
lead.
I picked up a wonderful replacement, bright silver, quieter, shorter
yet, with better reception...It installed in a few minutes with no
trouble
whatsoever.
At $30, it's been wonderful to me for the past year. I took a chance
over higher priced replacements and I'm quite pleased with my desicion.

Subject: Oil Change

I've had my DMC for 3 months now, used it every day, 3500 smiles worth,
and
have run up against another SMALL problem. Does anyone know what the oil
drain plug tool looks like, or where I can get one or something close
enough
to be an easy machining job?
It looks like a 8mm square hole (not 1/4", not 3/8", neither of my socket tools
work) and it looks as if one could be made out of a 3/8" breaker bar.
Thanx

Subject: Yokahama Tire Pressure?

What is the best tire pressure on the Yokahama AVS Intermediate 235-60-15
on the rear? And the 195-60-14 on the front?
I live in Wisconsin and drive the DMC in all but snow. I cruse the
highway on weekend trips around 80 MPH yet drive 5 miles to work daily
at 35 MPH. I have run Yokahamas for 6 months now and still have no idea
what tire pressure is best for the DMC. Please advise.

Thank You.

Nothing else seems to work...

It;s a special star wrench. You can get one from any DeLorean supply house
i.e. P.J. Grady or DeLorean One.

HELP! As I was updating the back issues I was unable to locate copies of
the DeLorean Mailing List Numbers 90 through 97 (late March and early
April), If you have copies of these that you would forward to me, I would
appreciate it! Thanks!

Subject: Tire Pressures & Sizes

In response to R. Kerman's question:
This may or may not be correct, but years ago a tire dealer told me that
the best pressure for each tire is near the maximum pressure (generally
around 35psi). This gives the tire the longest life and best traction.

However, the best tire pressures for a car is aomost always much lower.
The
owner's manual on the DeLorean recommends 23psi on the front and 30psi on
the rear for normal driving habits. Continuous high-speed driving
recommendations are 29psi in the front and 34psi in the rear.

As far as Matt Peak's question:
I have no clue about being able to use a slightly larger tire size on the
DeLorean. It generally is possible on most cars, so I don't see where it
would be out of the question on the DeLorean. However, while looking at my
car recently, I did notice darker black markings in the fender wells where
I tire might have rubbed against the fiberglass from time to time. Keep in
mind that my DeLorean has been lowered by a couple of inches and may be
the
cause of these markings.

Just re-read my last message to the list as it returned to me via the
"live
list" and I wanted to say please excuse all my typos over the last few
months. Almost hard to believe that I make a living as a writer, isn't
it!?!.

Anyone know of a Macintosh email program that has a built-in spell
checker?

all)

Note that larger tire sizes will change your speedometer readings. In this
case, the front tire would cause the change.
