ADMIN NOTE:
Evidently there has been some confusion regarding the DeLorean Mailing List and
the recent postings of Dave Takeuchi's new email address, so for the record:
The DeLorean Mailing List and "takeuchi(AT)teleport.com" are TWO entirely separate
people. The DeLorean Mailing List is run by JAMES ESPEY and all messages
pertaining to or for the members of the DeLorean Mailing List should be directed
to "dmcnews(AT)goodnet.com".
Takeuchi(AT)teleport.com is the email address for Dave Takeuchi, the creator and
maintainer of the DeLorean Home Page
(http://www.peak.org/~takeuchi/delorean.html). Dave has nothing to do with the
DeLorean Mailing List except as a participant. By posting his new email address,
the DeLorean Mailing List was letting the rest of the DeLorean Mailing List
members know how to contact this very active participant of the online DeLorean
community.

In other news, my heartfelt thanks goes out to all the members of the DeLorean
Mailing List as we have finally broken that elusive 100 member mark. Our 100th
subscriber was "jarvin(AT)islandnet.com". Thank you to all!

Hi all,
I am a new subscriber to dmc news and know only a little about the marque.

I am interested in finding out costing to purchase a DeLorean.

Whether this is from America or Europe is unimportant, however, right hand
drive would be preferable.

I understand parts are available from Ireland, as this is where they were
built.
Are spares still plentiful?

Thanks in advance,

Greg Delios.

Subject: Cold start problem

Hello Everyone!

I am officially the owner of DeLorean #1529 (which was formerlly owned by
Steve and Pat Kimbrell of Corvallis, Oregon). I have had a garage in Oregon
going over the car thoroughly before I pick it up on Nov. 19 and drive it
back to Missouri via California.

The garage is good, but their labor rate is $55.50 per hour, so I am not
having them repair everything they find.

Anyway, one minor problem they found is that the car is extremely hard to
start when it is cold. Apparently the cold-start switch is not working
correctly. They said that they hooked the wire from the warm-start switch
to the cold-start switch and the car started fine, so they believe it may
be a wiring problem.

I was curious if anyone else has had this problem and if they have any
advice on what sections of wiring to check out first?

As always, any help will be appreciated.

~ Chase

P.S. For those curious about if I ever found full-coverage insurance for
the car, the answer is Yes and No. Farmer's Insurance Group has said yes,
then no at the corporate level, but it is being appealed by my agent and
MIGHT go through yet. I will post here what happens once it is eventually
settled.
