Maybe it's time to run this tip again since there are many new subscribers.
If you are tired of your A/C lights being on all the time and the heat damage
this can do to your radio, here's a simple fix. Remove the access panel
behind the passenger seat exposing the relays. Facing the rear you have a
bottom row and a top row. Count three from the left on the top row and remove
it. Save it ( it's the same as some of the others and can be used as a spare
). Get two 1/4" spade connectors and a 2 1/2" piece of good wire. Put a spade
connector on each end of the wire. One end goes in the bottom slot ( closest
to you ) and the other goes in the slot to the right. Before you put it all
back together start the car ( no illumination ) and then turn on your lights
( illumination ). When you have assured yourself that everything works,
button it back up. There is a whole electrical diagram that will tell you why
this works, but it doesn't really matter. The usual disclaimer applies.

The DeLorean Owners Handbook states:
Your De Lorean is designed to operate at factory specifications with UNLEADED
GASOLINE only of at least 87 anti-knock index (R+M/2) (91 research octane
number).
I interpret this to mean that the car should use at least 87 octane
unleaded fuel. However, when I first got my '82, it spark-knocked horribly. I
started using Chevron Supreme with Techron (92 Octane) and it went away within
two tanks worth.

Regular unleaded [87 octane] is sufficient for the normally-aspirated PRV V-6;
should you be fortunate enough to have a turbocharged DeLorean, use the premium
unleaded. As a blanket statement: buy alcohol-free unleaded gas whenever
possible - alcohol-blended gas can damage the fuel system of any car if
improperly blended, and repairing a damaged DeLorean fuel system may cost you
dearly.

The DeLorean was designed to run on regular 87 octane unleaded, but
I usually use a 118 octane blend unleaded as I've found it runs
exceptionally with it.

Yes, certainly the best of luck to you, and I hope you are
completely satisfied with your purchase.
I had no idea that insurance was such a problem for a lot of
people. I'm certain Geiko is not mearly a local insurance group, which is
what I'm going through...I had no problem at all.
As with the Fiero, I called them up, gave them all the info, year,
type, vin, etc....I was given my policy number and the DeLorean was on full
coverage.
I can't possibly concieve why, but is insurance state mandated???
Wolfie...hoping he didn't confuse many people with the address mix up...I'm
using my roommate's computer until I can get mine back up and running, and I
sometimes forget to change the mail address from hers to mine...For the
record...I can always be reached at awolf@pacific.telebyte.net
