I know exactly what you are talking about...
I can't recall if they existed on my hood when I bought it or
not...but I always atrributed it to either my pressing on the hood too much
when cleaning or having overloaded the 13 or so feet of cargo space.(I
usually let my hood down slowly and press it closed so I know if
something's too tall for it, but I sometimes have to wonder...
I'm willing to bet that it can be fixed, but right now it is only
noticable to me it seems...half the things I think I heard or see or feel
with the car, my roomate denies the exeistence of. She thinks I'm
obsessed. SHE'S RIGHT! hehehe
Ah...I DID have a quick question though...have you noticed the far
corners of the hood near the windsheild vibrating as if not closed or
warped when driving???

Under various atmospheric conditions I can see the criss cross
outline of the hood base material, it may have something to do with
a difference in material temperatures ... just never questioned it,
it's something that just is ... you are not alone.

Subject: Plutonium Delorean
All of this talk about plutonium Deloreans reminds me of my trip to Orlando,
Florida last year. I had the opportunity to go to Universal Studios and
actually have my picture taken in front of the famous DMC "Plutonium"
Delorean. I was kind of disappointed, though. It was in bad shape. Several
souvenir hunters had managed to walk away with different parts from it. But
then again, most of the missing parts were props that were added on to begin
with. Anyway, it was a memorable experience that I thought I might share.

An hour after I sent my previous message, I found that Mr. Suzuki is a
(non-owner) member of our local owners* club.
As mentioned in your message, he has been looking for a replica of DeLorean
time machine (which does not have to travel time nor fly on hover conversion)
as seen on the silver screen. (He is looking for one with a nuclear reactor
but I am sure that he would settle with one with Mr. Fusion.) I have seen in
a little bit old TV program (video taped) that an American gentleman did
build an exact replica. I wonder if he still holds onto his car. I also
hear that someone in the states runs a business to convert Transams into KITT
(Knight Rider). Does anyone do a similar job on DeLorean?
Mr. Suzuki would also be happy to bid for those cars which were actually used
in the film. Is there one for sale at Universal?
Have a nice day! Yours temporally, Yoshi

Q: Could you help? I'm trying to find information about the DeLorean, the
physical specs from wheelbase and length to ground clearance and turning
radius. I tried a library search without success.
S.W., Chicago
A: Thanks to Don Gowler of the DeLorean Midwest Connection, a copy of all
the specs you'd ever care to know about the gullwing DeLorean have been sent
to you. The DeLorean Midwest Connection is dedicated to the preservation of
the DeLorean car, which, of course, means club members must have a marvelous
sense of humor.

This is at least the third time that I'm aware of Jim Mateja bad-mouthing
the DeLorean and DeLorean owners in his column. Do we, as owners and
enthusiasts have any responsiblity to try and change his perspective? Any deas
anyone?

Subject: Questions of equivalence opinions...
I'm a DeLorean fanatic and tech nut (I'm in good company here on
this newsgroup...)
I have been wondering if an idea I have has any validity
with other DMC nuts. I am restoring an old 1968 Mercedes-Benz 200D Diesel
currently as a recreational project. I'd eventually like to sell it or
(ideally) trade it for a DeLorean once it's back to excellent condition.
I know all about going prices, etc. for DMC's and I have yet to get this
Benz appraised, but I've seen three in fair shape (needing some minor
engine/body work) otherwise identical to it going for 8500 to 10 grand.
Here's my question:
The engine and drivetrain are absolutely perfect (Complete professional
rebuild - this was elective, not the result of a shot engine!) I'm currently
removing a couple of buckshot-sized rust spots and repainting; interior
is great (I'm replacing the headliner, but otherwise all is quite good -
no rips or sun damage.) I want to get it pretty close to perfect, so I'm
replacing the old heater core and the fuel gauge. Body is fine, no dents
but needs repainting -it's gotten pretty dull. It's a 4 door, 4
cylinder diesel and runs like a dream; gets about 34+ miles/ gallon; I
really like it a lot - but my passion is for DeLoreans. I have never sold
a car, and I don't want to go through the hassle; but does anyone think
that this would be a reasonable trade for a DeLorean in good shape when
I'm through? (I'm not making an offer; I'm just asking for anybody and
everybody's opinions...)
What I'M looking for is a DeLorean in good shape
mechanically and with no significant body damage, mileage (and interior,
within reason) not important. Doesn't matter what year, whether the A/C,
radio, etc. works; and one disclaimer - I intend to be 100% honest about
my car and that's what I'm looking for, too. Suggestions? Would I be
better off selling and buying with the $ I get? (I'd rather not, but...)
Thanks in advance for your responses...
