This is something I have noticed myself, and have once even stopped, got out and
checked to make sure that it was *really* closed. My hood closes VERY tightly, 
but I have since attributed the vibration to the fact that it only latches in 
the center.

Unfortunately, I believe his mind's already made up on the DeLorean.  A year or 
two ago, 
he came out with a list of "all-time automotive turkeys";  the accompanying 
illustration 
was of a DeLorean merged with a Tom Turkey to produce a turkey wearing a 
DeLorean, 
much like a turtle wears its shell.

Any letters written to this fellow would probably appear with a paragraph or two
of slander - 
courtesy of Mateja's inimitable wit - in a forthcoming Sunday Trib.

Some of us here on the DeLorean Mailing List have gotten together via email and 
are putting together a list of Common Failure Items AND an accompanying list of 
fixes/replacement parts for these items that will be published in this list, and
posted on the web site. The initial list is below, and we would  like to get any
other suggestions for this list.

1. Gas gauge/sending units
2. Clutch master/slave cylinder (brakes, too?)
3. Brake squeal
4. Door seals
5. Tail light circuit boards
6. Angle drives
7. Trailing arm bolts
8. Fuel pump seals
9. Lucas relays
10. Ducellier alternators
11. Plastic header bottles
12. radiator
13. door lock solenoids/window motors
14. Oxygen sensor
15. Brake light switch
16. Dome light fixture
17. Clutch line
18. Oil pressure gauge/sending unit
19. Weak door/rear louver struts
20. Cassette mechanism - applies mainly to the Craig units
21. Rear louver - look for rust & cracks near the strut mounts
