First off, what were the original tires from the factory? Second, is there a source for factory service manuals, either original or copies? Finally, I thought I read somewhere that a list of common parts with a cross reference to other makes/models was available. Any help in finding this would be appreciated. BTW, the idea of a list of common failures with the associated fixes would be EXTREMELY valuable. I would encourage the completion of such a project. Thanks for your help. See ya... I have a video of Mr. DeLorean on one of the many talk shows that have appeared over the years. In his discussion of the the production of the car and the demise of DMC he talked of the body dies being dumped into the North Sea. He said he, or some folks he had ties to, had sent a team of divers down to check the possibility of recovering the dies. At that time they decided it was cost prohibitive. I suppose at some time in the future, when the body parts are rare enough, it may be a more cost worthy pursuit. Of course by that time the cost of restoring the dies to a productive condition may prove too costly to pursue. I talked to one person who thought it possible to construct fenders in pieces, by hand, and weld them together. I'm not expert in the metalurgical idiosyncrasies of stainless steel, but I think Mr. DeLorean knew of what he was speaking about when he said the dies were not cost effective regarding their salvage.
