As for Mr. DeLorean saying that it was not cost effective to bring up the dies,
I would tend to agree...to a point. Even if that was only 5 years ago, I think
it would be possible to do it now. Technology must be to the point that we
could pull of such an operation with no problem. Didn't they pull up an old
Viking ship that was 800 years old from somewhere out by the North Sea? These
are just some dies... hunks of metal. I can't believe they aren't easily
gotten.

Does anyone have any ideas about what would cost so much? Why they say it
-isn't- cost effective?

Dave

With all the discussion about it recently, I called JZD this afternoon and
asked him if he had a particular address he would be willing to make
available to those on the internet who are interested in attempting to
contact him. He said sure (BTW, he added that I should tell you
all to "send money" - you can judge for yourself whether or not he was joking)
and asks that any correspondence be directed to this address:

John Z. DeLorean
Lamington Road
Bedminster, NJ 07921

So there it is. This will be posted on the DeLorean Mailing List home page,
so maybe this list will get less of those "What's JZD's address" posts.

The original, and still available tires, are Goodyear NCT's, they are
HR rated ... the original spec's were going to use Pirelli P7's but
the NCT's were deemed better. Reprints of the manuals are available
from the DeLorean Motor Club of America ... check the Web Home Page
for availability. Best regards,

Subject: Sealt belt bolt cover

I looked at a DeLorean over the weekend that had some black plastic (?) covers
over the seat belt bolts on the outside lower sills. I looked in the parts
manual, but I can't find them in there - are they a real DMC item or did someone
add them to this car. I can't recall ever seeing them before,
