why don't more owers put there personal touch of owner ship to there d's with a little customising. i'm not talking sculpting of the body or anything but little things. i am personaly putting custom seat covers in my d. the original factory seat covers are in great shape, but seeing is how this has been my dream car for years, i wanted to give it my personal touch. i am going to box the leather seat covers up nicely for originality. don't get me confused with an owner of a basket case. my d was a blessing from the lord and in great shape. i personaly think that we can give our cars our personal touches and still keep the originality factor by carfully packaging and storing what we take off. if your like me, you know that your delorean was a true blessing from the lord. i want to enjoy what the lord has done for me. i hope this sparks some new disuctions . thanks to every one for there time.

Jonathan, For future reference the DeLorean can not be push started. Most no-start conditions are fuel related. Here is the first item to check.
Go to the fuse block and replace fuse # 7. If that does not get you started you will need to jump the RPM relay (fuel pump) to force the fuel pump to operate. Call our Tech-Support line 770 631-4800 10 A - 5 P EST Mon.- Fri. for further assistance.

The very first thing you need to do is partially remove the fuel pump and inspect the support boot to determine if it has been damaged by being in contact with the gasoline.
You are welcomed to call our Tech Support line for further assistance. Feel free to call Mon - Fri 10 am to 5 pm at 770 631-4800 than press 2 for Tech-Support.

Video tape copies of most network entertainment shows are generally not available. Your best bet is to call your local affiliate that aired the program and ask them for the show number, once you have that number it will be easy to identify when the program will be repeated allowing you to record it yourself.

Most people try to keep valued collectibles, such as the Delorean, as original as possible. A lowered 57 chevy with jacked up wheels in the back and flames down the side will never be worth as much as one that looks the same as the day it drove off the lot. IMHO.

Yeah, figured that, that's what I get for listening to my father :) Anyhow, if anyone was wondering how I solved the problem. I was right it was flooded. What I did was unplug the the coldstart valve electrical connection and then it was finally able to get enough air to start. It's good as new now.

Gus,
You will find that most quick oil change places will change your oil once you tell them that the engine is the same as a Volvo 760 V-6.

There is also a socket wrench adaptor from 1/2" to 1/4" which uses a 5/16 square plug to connect the adaptor to the plugs. It is perfect for the oil drain plug. It's just the right depth and fits between the oil pan and the cross frame.
I usually jack up the rear end about 6 inches when draining the oil.

I cant agree with keeping the D 100%. if you want to go right ahead and bring it to concourse specs. Your effort will not be wasted and it will be appreciated. However the D is just asking for it to be customized. From a little thing like a custom spoiler and ground effects to that wacky red one that has all that chrome on it(very impressive IMHO). Tacky or tastefull its your car and to many owners having a D shows alot about their personalities, why not let this be exhibited in their autos. Personally I cant see anything better than the two tone D with black on top and gold/bronze on the bottom. customize it with a digital dash and reengine it with a buick 3800II supercharged engine, a tastefull spoiler and you got a one of a kind sports car that will get the same attention as half million doller cars that only the likes of Leno and Seinfeld have personally made for them from small italian firms. Go for broke with these cars, their uniqueness can only be topped by an even more unique D.

To a true DeLorean enthusiast, "customizing" a DeLorean is akin to taking the Lord's name in vain. A sinful deed at best! I will take what the Lord blessed me with and keep it as He would have me do; unadulterated original.

Gus-
I've never experienced a rubbing of tires, and I've turned mine as far as possible. But if you think the DMC has an inadequate turning radius, try a new camaro. It's like steering a battleship.

The thread on sightings of DeLoreans in movies, TV shows, video games, etc. has been closed. These postings are much like BTTF postings in that they start with an innocent reference and soon they lead to all sorts of attempted postings that have to do only with the show, the movie, or the game. They then contribute nothing to a list devoted the DeLorean - the car, the man & the company.

There is a Delorean on the game Carmageddon 2. The doors open like regular gull-wing doors, and the engine is rear mounted. Check it out: www.carmageddon.com.

Jonathan-
You might give a check to the fuse box, you could have easily blown a fuse to the pump. I can't remember if it's the top first or the top second. But give that a look, it happened to mine.

I found that the safest way to remove the gas from a Delorean tank after removing the fuel pump was to use one of those plastic kerosene pumps,it is all plastic so that there is no chance of any kind of spark, they are found in any hardware store and they cost under $5.00,you put one end in the fuel tank and the other end in a plastic gas can, pump the bulb a few times and then it sucks the gas out,no electrical power needed just be careful you do not over fill the gas can. With no gas in the tank it then is a snap to remove the gas tank.If you do not know what the kersone pump looks like I could e-mail a pic.
