I agree with your preference on going with a V-6 as aposed to a larger
engine, but I have a better solution than the Buick 3.8. I would go with
the Dodge 4.3 for 2 main reasons. (1) It has proven to be a very
powerful, long lasting engine.( As used in the Dodge Cyclone pick-up
which can go from 0-60 in just over 4 sec.) (2) The size of the engine
is perfect for the D. You can install it on the existing engine mounts.

Just my opinion.

The light is controlled by the oil pressure switch. All it does is make
ground when the pressure is low. The single wire that goes to the switch
is unprotected. It runs down close to the AC compressor, down the side of
the engine and into the block, right next to the exhaust and CC. The
ones I have seen have been very badly damaged by heat and have the
insulation rotting off. If the bare wires come in contact with the
engine, then the light will come on. This is the easy fix, but its very
common.

He has said that he's a big BTTF fan and has been appointed
to help spruce up the DeLoreans there. His e-mail is:

What is this I hear about a De Lorean prototype rotting in Tennessee? =
If this prototype does exist (and someone knows where it is), I would be =
willing to go take pictures. I live in Nashville, but could travel =
anywhere in TN sometime.

I am seriously thinking of opening up a DMC Service Center here in =
Mobile, Al. Right now, its just a thought but could soon become a =
reality. I have one mechanic (personal mechanic that I've used for 10 =
years and VERY knowledgeable on the DeLorean. His partner is equally =
knowledgeable, but for right now, until I get some opinions or feedback, =
I feel that I will only need the one mechanic. I've also come to this =
conclusion by talking with another DeLorean shop that I've dealt with =
for years. (He agrees with just one mechanic in the beginning) As a =
DeLorean owner for 11 years, I'm very knowledgeable on the DeLorean and =
just today, purchased my second DeLorean. I've been contemplating this =
for the last 6 months and would greatly appreciate your comments, =
feedback, and questions as well. =20

Thanks in advance,

I saw a RHD DeLorean in Unique cars a few weeks back. It was stainless and
worth about A$40,000.

A few weeks ago someone on the list mentioned this book and I ordered it
from my local Borders. It arrived last Friday and I read it over the
weekend. The book is written by Stephen Arrington, and the book cover
describes him as "the fall guy in the John DeLorean drug case".

If you're looking for a book describing the setup and arrest of JZD, this
is not it. This book covers more about Arrington's time in prison before
and after his trial and conviction, and a bit about his life after prison.

Because of the slim JZD content, I don't think the book is for everyone,
but if you're one of those collectors that "has to have everything", I'd
say it's a worthwhile addition for the money, about $12.

I thought everyone would get a kick out of this:

Car 1981, Delorean Delorean, 2K miles, $61,500/OBO

I saw that by browsing the hotmail.com website (in the classifieds
section)
I wish that us DeLorean owners could get that much for our cars.....maybe
some day!

Just because I am lazy.....what kind of battery goes into the flashlight
key?

I have one but have not headed for Radio Shack to test battery sizes.
