The fuel filter is standard Volvo
The oil filter Pugeot
The proper air filter is also Pugeot
The interior key assembly is Volvo
The interior AC/heater blower motor is GM/Delco
I have some part numbers for some of the above items. This may make it
easier for when you go to the parts house/dealer. As always, COMPARE THE
OLD PART WITH THE NEW ONE. Think before you act.
Fuel Filter - Bosch 0-450-905-401 or FRAM G-3744
Oil Filter - FRAM PH-2825, though my preference is the Purolux from DeLorean One
Air Filter - Bosch AF235, Purolator AF4275 (my personal preference)
Blower Motor - Delco 15-895
Motorola Alternator Belt - Dayco 15490
A/C compressor belt - Dayco 15525
Lambda Probe - Bosch 258-001-037
ALL of these parts are also available from the specialty De Lorean parts
houses, and in many caoses they are no more expensive than purchasing
locally. With the exception of the belts (which you should have spares of
anyway), you know in advance when you will need/replace these parts and the
shipping time is not a factor. Generally, I will purchase parts like these
from a De Lorean parts house, because I want them to be there for me when I
need that "obscure" part or when I have a question that the shmuck down at
Checker/NAPA/Billy Bob's can't answer. I encourage everyone else to do the
same.

Subject: Lowering of the DeLorean
Two articles have appeared in DeLorean World that provide information on how
to lower your DeLorean.
Vol. 4, No. 2, page 41 - Custom-designed Springs for Lowering the DeLorean,
by Fred Lockett, of DeLorean Specialties.
Describes the custom-designed springs that he sells that lower the front end
by 1.5 to 2.0 inches. He sells a two spring front set and a four spring full
suspension set that lowers the car and softens the ride. I do not know if
Fred is still in business as he has not advertised in DeLorean World for
several years now.
Vol. 4, No. 4, page 22 - Lowering the DeLorean, by Don Steger, of DeLorean
Motor Center.
This is an excellent illustrated how-to-do it article for the skilled auto
suspension professional. Step by step instructions with 17 photographs guide
the professional in removing the front and rear coils, cutting 3 3/4 coils
from the rear springs, placing them on the front, and putting the front
spring on the rear.
This procedure lowers the front and rear by 1 1/2 inches and looks great
Don Steger has lowered hundreds of DeLorean by now. I had him do my '81
DeLorean as soon as I got it 7 years ago. It looks great and improved
handling in the corners greatly.
Vol. 4, No. 4 also includes an excellent article on the original suppliers of
the major components of the DeLorean, technical articles on Fuel Tank Baffle,
Fuel Pump Sealing Ring, A/C Panel Light Modification, Coolant Loss, and a
Prototype DeLorean.
Back Issues of DeLorean World are available to DeLorean Owners Association
members for $12.50 per issue, or 6 issues for $50.00. A complete Index of all
articles is included in Volume 11, No. 4.

Subject: quarter panel
Hi Group,
At the suggestion of a current DMC owner, does anyone need or know
someone who needs a left rear quarter panel for their DMC?
I bought one in 1982 after my wife (newlywed!) did a left lane change
with misaligned rearview mirror. The dent in my car was fairly simple
and I eventually straigtened it out myself, but kept the new panel. I
eventually sold the car, but buyer didn't want panel and it has been in
my garage ever since.
It is still in DeLorean Motor Company bax that it came in. Cost me
$850 then, but I am moving and want it outta here. Make me an offer
and it is yours. Jim 713 367-9619

Had my ASI radio repaired at Fordham Auto Radio, Boston Road, Bronx, NY
10467 ... Tel # 718-231-1600 . They were referred to me by ASI - has
been working fine since - charges were not unreasonable - major problem
is getting the darned thing out of the dash not to mention getting it
back in. Regards, Marv.
