Subject: Insurance problems...
Hi.. This is my first message in the news letter.. I have been looking
at purchasing a 81 DeLorean for a couple of months now.. The only
problem I am finding is insurance. No one will write anything beside
liability for a DeLorean. I have even tried the declared value
approach.. I need help!! The insurance is the only thing that is
holding me up from buying the car.. BTW I live in Texas..

I am 18 years old and live in Boone, North Carolina. My obsession with
the DeLorean started when I was only 10. I saw BTTF and was curious to
what kind of car it was, even though it said in the movie, I thought it
a GMC DeLorean. I looked it up in the Standard Catalog of American
Cars, and found out everything about it. If my new Buisiness works out
I plan to have my first DMC in 1997. My Dream is to have a huge garage
totally devoted to the DeLorean, and someday to have one of the Gold
DMC's. I plan to have everything from model kits to posters and video
collections of shows with DMC's in them. I AM VERY OBSESSED, and sometimes
it worries my friends and family. But at least my dream is affordable
and feasable. I plan to join the DOA soon and would love to get DeLorean
World Magazine on a regular basis. I already have some 75 computer images
and an animation of a DMC lifting off the ground and flying off.
I took 4 years of Automotive Technology at Watauga High School and 2 years
of Computer Applications. One of my projects right now is to create a DeLorean
for Road & Tracks Need for Speed, I have already made one for Nascar Racing.
I plan to really help keep the Delorean alive in the mind of the public,
and do my part to help the DOA. I have John DeLorean's phone number, but
I have not gotten the nerve to call him yet. When I do I plan to let him
know much the DMC means to me.
If anyone thinks I am crazy, let me know!

I just wanted to let everyone know that my insuance bill for the year is
$680.00 w/ full coverage. Its covered under Commerse Insurance for the
Appraised value of $25,000.00. With Commerse, When you have AAA they give
you a 10% Discount and if your a step 9 or 10 they give you an additional
10% off. I do have other discounts like: Having an Alarm, Multi-car
dicount, but I think this is a great deal, maybe I'll keep it on the road
longer next year. I don't have the number handy, but if anyone is

Subject: More DeLorean tapes Books available
If you were in line to buy a copy of the rare "DeLorean Tapes" book from
me, I have four coming in from the UK sometime next week. I expect some
people will have changed their mind or I will be unable to contact them
for one reason or another. For those unfamiliar with the book here is a
brief description:
The DeLorean Tapes Published by THE SUNDAY TIMES INSIGHT, London
This is a rare soft cover book which is a compilation of all the FBI
tapes made during their attempt to set their hook in John Z. DeLorean.
It's 164 pages long and is just transcripts wth a few paragraphs
interspersed to describe the setting when each set of tapes were made.
Quite interesting to see the governments perspective as opposed to JZD's
version of events as published in his autobiography. It was only
published in the UK and generally not seen in the States. I'm told only a
thousand copies were printed.
If interested, email me and I will respond with payment/shipping
information. Interesting trades always considered.

Mike:
Call Rob Grady at 516-589-6224 re the clutch. I got mine from him and it is a heavy duty unit, not the original. Very important !!! change the slave unit at the same time.

Oops. That might be useful information, huh? $45 includes USPS Priority
mail shipping. 2 of the 4 are already "sold". Email me if you are
interested and I will hold one for you. The books are being shipped to me
from London and should arrive sometime next week.

Don't try it in NY City or Nassau County ! The deceptively simple police
cars are 425 hp demons ... trying to outrun them is simply asking for a
whole lot of trouble.

Try Leland West Ins, Brokers at 209-431-88282 ... I have a declared value
policy with 2500 miles allowed for $911 per year, you can get a 5000 mile
allowance for about a hundred more. Mine's an '83 but they would only go
20,000 on the declared value but then I live in New York City ( Queens
County - highest auto theft rate in the country. ) Best regards and good luck,

Do you think a DeLorean race game could be feasible? I think everyone who
has even
seen the BTTF series would be interested. (Not to mention all the crazy
devotetees like
myself)
