SUBJECT:     DOOR KEY INSERTION



In order to properly insert the door key into the door lock's key
slot, the slide plate, covering the key slot, must first be pushed
aside with the key.  This is best done by placing the tip of the
key at an angle into the "crescent-shaped" recess, sliding the
cover plate aside with the tip of the key and then inserting
the key (Figure 1).

New vehicle owners should be informed of this technique when their
vehicle is being delivered.
